I'm sure this has been covered before, so maybe someone could forward a thread to me. But I have a couple of old coppers that are flaking at the edges. What should I put on them to prevent further flaking? I heard before that some kind of wax would work, but I'm not sure what the best would be. Or is there any other kind of substance that would work just as well to keep things as they are? Thanks for any input you have!

You should lightly soak the coins in Acetone to arrest the corrosion that is causing them to flake. After that, rinse, pat dry, then soak them in Extra Virgin Olive (to stabilize them and resist further corrosion and damage) for about a week, take out and pat dry, then place them in 2x2 holders. This is about all that can be done as much of the damage as in flaking has already been done!
