If i decided to try and trade my Tesaro silver umax for a unit with a display,
What could i probaly move to with say a little extra in cash(30-50)?Would an ace 350 or technics delta by a good trade?I am mostly hunting around old houses(1820-1900), and maybe some battle sites in the future. I know i should
spend alot more and get the best detector but this would be in my budget.
I used a friends f-2 and i like the display better then the beep beep dig.Any help would be great thank you.

I am going to recommend you not trade your unit for any of those listed. You have a good detector with the uMax. Those displays are really inaccurate. They are wrong about half the time. If you rely on those screens, you are going to miss a lot of good stuff.

Just set your discrimination and dig all of the good signals you get.

If you still want to trade, either the 350 or Delta will be fine, though the Delta seems to handle mineralized ground better from what I have heard.

Good luck to you. :icon_thumleft:

If you have many hours in with your Silver uMax you should be getting maximum performance from the machine. If you really are, you will be disappointed with any of the previously mentioned machines.

The Silver uMax is a very underrated machine.

The price of a machine does not reflect its effectiveness.

Readouts and displays are too often gimmicks and not very reliable.

Simple and basic gets the job done every time.

Hang on to your Umax. Mine is my backup machine and the one I am most apt to have in the car if I come across a chance opportunitiy to do a little digging. Oh, my other machine is now a Garrett with a display. I need to change my avatar notes.Monty
