Im pretty sure it’s a miners pick... the log hooks had a curve like a fishing hook
I’m from the PNW and logging is big around here and pretty sure that’s not associated with logging.

That looks like a damaged splitting froh....froe? For splitting logs into boards or splitting out shakes.

It does resemble a splitting froe, but from what I can tell via Google a froe has has a vertical cutting edge and this one is horizontal. Thanks for teaching me a new word (i.e., froe).

That looks like a damaged splitting froh....froe? For splitting logs into boards or splitting out shakes.

The pointed part gets hammered into the beam/post. The looped end of hinge-or eyelet of gate sits over the pin.
The upper one can point down/the lower can point up-this prevents the gate/door from being removed easily.
Common find in the field/homestead sites.
A real pain removing them from the barn timbers as a lot of the time the shanks will have barb groves along them.
