Years ago we hunted a school yard that was just thick with nickles. It was not uncommon to find ten to fifteen nickles in one hole. Thinking back I guess that was in the late 70's. That was one of the great spots.. We found well over 2000 coins at that location... Good ole days..

The most things I ever found in one area/ hole was the metal remains and connecting parts of an old 1850`s stage coach which I posted one of the axles a few weeks ago under whats this.
There seems to be no way to pin point the axles to a particular carriage or coach at this time.

Last July, I found 15 Silver Quarters in the same whole. My XLT read 25 cents one way and overload when I crossed the target. I dug the plug and started pulling them out with every hand full of dirt. Tim

2 rolls of mem cents, spread over half a foot.
63 quarters in one hole all clad.
An area where a carnival machine had folded up and been towed out left another pile of coins about 12 to 15 feet long, 5 to 6 inches wide and in some places 5 coins deep.

Ah, the cladventurous life.

My best was a hole with two barber quarters and one barber dime, sitting together on top of one another.
