Or would it be better to keep my set up and just buy the new X35 11" coil as oppose to selling my set up and buying a whole new one? I'm just wondering if the control box is different on the new Deus with more modern components and features. Thoughts on what i should do?

Just get an X35 the box is the same on ALL XP Dues detectors. I wouldn't be surprised if the same hardware is in the ORX as well just dumbed down in software.

Most of the hardware that matters is in the coil. The box just programs the coil with Deus or Orx program settings and acts as the wireless audio interface between the coil and the wireless headphones. As others have said, the box hardware design has probably not changed since Deus was released.
