Thanks guys. A lady paid me with quarters today. She gave me 3-1966. Guess I will keep everything from the sixties. I told her if she was going to pay me in quarters it had to be silver. She is a frugal lady. So she rolled her eyes. Thanks again!!

Only half dollars are 40% from 1965-1970. Quarters and dimes have no silver after 1964 (except for some proofs). You can always tell by looking at the edge - your 1966 quarters will have the "sandwich" look of clad coins - a layer of copper in the middle.

Thanks James. Guess I will be checking the half dollars and spending those quarters I saved.

delta 4000 / ace 250 - used BH and many others too
half dollars 1965 thru 1970 are 40% -- they will have a copper core still (and some later dated S mint proof set coins -* taken out of "proof sets" )--dimes and quarters and halves 1964 and earlier are 90% silver content and will not have a copper core line--good luck

FYI - Some of the Kennedy Halves 1966-1970 may show "a layer of copper in the middle" to varying degrees but they are still 40% silver.
