Re: What's For Dinner?

My, don't you know how poor of a soul am I?
Tonight-
All "left-overs."
A day, a week or a month. Time to buck up and either throw it away or eat it.

So, thus it is:

Beans: 2 days old
Eggs: been in fridge for a coupla weeks
Taters:"That ain't still growin', is it? I've never seen that color of green before"

Ummm. Been Nice knowin' y'all... :tongue3:

Oh Look! in the back of the fridge! It's month old sliced cucumbers!
"Ummm... I'll pass, Boss."

"But such lovely fluorescent colors, my Friend!"
"Eat and be merry!"

Re: What's For Dinner?

Never tried eating bones before except to flavor a soup.

I had a hot dog and chips.
Yes I know what's in them and it's hard to find good tasting ones but they are inexpensive and quick to cook. 94 degrees and I don't care to do a lot in the kitchen.
Will have more hot dogs tomorrow when we go to the beach.
(Don't want to eat all the "sand-which-is there.) (that was a joke)
Also want to try out new sluice box I made on the Henry-Henry style.
Supposed to be good for fine beach gold.

Re: What's For Dinner?

An early dinner or a late lunch....makes no difference. The REAL difference is between eating when you want to as opposed to eating when you can... :-\

Some kind of white fish(was given to me by a friend). Seasoned with butter, lemon juice and parsley.
Hmmm...Cocktail sauce or tartar sauce? Which do y'all prefer?

The mac and cheese is 'bout ready, the butter on the peas is about melted and I'm about to pour a big glass of iced tea.
Much better than last nights "piggy pops"(pork rinds) and pop tarts! :laughing7:

Best,
Scott

Re: What's For Dinner?

Last night I made cabbage rolls, or as I grew up knowing them, Golumpkis.
bought cabbage from a friend, sauerkraut and kielbasa from the store and rolled some fatties...LOL

Now I have so many leftovers that I need to take some into work and send some w/ hubby to share w/ his buddy who *thinks* he's the cabbage roll king. ha, hardly...I'm known in 2 states as the Golumpki Queen. (there's GOT to be a tiara for that, yes? and perhaps a sash?)

Re: What's For Dinner?

1. "birdsnest" spaghetti with homemade chicken soup over it.

2. Home made garlic bread.

3. Tomato , avacado and thin sliced onion salad with fresh lemon dressing.

4. Home made rhubarb pie with Cheddar cheese wedges.

( It was really banging!) Joe

Re: What's For Dinner?

It's definitely not one of my favorites, but today is spaghetti (with plenty of meat) and homemade garlic bread.

The good thing is it cheap, easy and the kids love it and I'm just thankful we have food to eat.
