Re: What's For Dinner?

You folks may remember that I don't have a lot.
Christmas dinner was free for a visitor at the hospital where my lady was at.
Tavern had free food also .
Tonight I had 2 $1 turkey TV dinners and it filled me up.
Better than 1 "Hungry Man" dinner in price and just as much or more food.

Re: What's For Dinner?

My Friends,
Spring Semester of College starts tomorrow for me.
I have visited my local Vietnamese market and now have a good supply of exotic ramen package varieties on hand.
Along with my knowledge of spices and seasonings, dinners will be of a starch and protien nature for some time.
Occasionally, I may be able to afford protien through meat.
Potatos, beans, rice and ramen. The meals of a Survivor!

Tonight? Well, it's "clean the 'fridge" night." If it ain't green, fuzzy or smells bad, it's What's For Dinner!:tongue11:

Best,
Scott

Somone say Prime Rib? Where? Missouri? Dang!
I used to live in KC, home of some great BBQ.
Let me think...in the Belton area, south of KC..... on Wornall Road? Burnt Ends. (Drool)
What was the name of that place?
Mmmmmm. Smokehouse, Smokestack BBQ?

Best,
Scott

PS. Mamabear, any chance of a mail package? I'll pay postage...

Re: What's For Dinner?

Yesterday I bought a small roast for $8.
Figured I could get 5 dinners out of that and some spuds.
Went to start cooking and found my deep glass dish had run away after Thanksgiveing dinner.
Only had a kinda flat glass dish. Put in the roast, spuds, 'shrooms, onions, baby carrots, and a bit of port wine I save for cooking. Tried to seal it with foil. Cooked 3 hrs.
Very tasty jerky. Spuds took in all the liquid.
Dollar store had some canned gravy so was much better tonight.

PS
Tnx Scott for your prayers for my Lady.

I fix a mean prime rib Au24k. but the sauce I serve with it is the crowning glory. it's an orange marmalade & horseradish sauce. i got the recipe from a ragin cajun about 30 yrs ago. he danced like a crazy person, but cooked like an angel. would gladly send some rib your way if I knew it would stay med. rare, but can't grantee it, so you'll have to come to the bistro. chk it out on facebook. Durso hills winery & bistro.
Mental Granny, you will have to use you're mental powers on the kids. the classes only go so far. good luck.

I don't eat at 'certain' places. I hold off. eat before or later but if pushed I eat the 'least invasive disgusting thing humans can do to food' and pray LOL LOL
