Did ya brown the flour in the drippings first ? Then add liquid a little at a time ? makes a big difference ! Jeff would fix dinner really fantastic cook but, he learned to ask me to fix the gravy. :laughing7:

Re: What's For Dinner?

Thanks MG. Yes I did cook the flour first.
Guess I didn't have enough drippings.

Home made chicken and dumplings tonight. Yum.
Made a mistake tho and followed a recipe. Melted half the dumplings when I covered them.
Still tasted good and have 5 margerine tubs left over!

Tonight it will be,
Italian sweet sausage simmered in peppers and onions for a couple hours in a homemade bun.
Have to make extra for tomorrow's lunch.

Re: What's For Dinner?

Store bought leftovers tonight.

Have a Rock Cornish Game Hen thawing in fridge for later.
Looks like maybe no BBQ up at Foster Care place Monday because of rain.
Was thinking about stuffing game hen with that dried bread, garlic, mushrooms (do they go with garlic?), and making a thing to turn it on my BBQ. Baste with salt free butter.
Someday would like to try the beer in the hole type BBQ.
Also wonder how they get the bones out of the TurkDuckChicken thing?

Re: What's For Dinner?

Well,
Tonight,
It looks like a bowl or two of home-made chili, Deep fried "Tater-Tots," and "brats-in-a-bun" with TONS of shredded cheese!
Throw in some greens, say, collard, turnip or mustard,
and we're talkin' "Come an' Git It!"

Best Wishes,
Scott

UPDATE!
Looks like it's gonna be Turnip Greens..
Y'all Come!
Got Plenty for all!
