You are right, we were having a personal conversation about what we each saw or didn't see in the assessment of the coins. Myself and I am sure that coinguy*matthew were not being arrogant in what we each stated and I am sorry that you felt that we were being arrogant! Also, the statement "I would personally want an eye appealing AU58 over a dog MS63." was a generalization of Collectors/Dealers purchasing coins and not even remotely directed towards your' coins. Myself and from the statement, I assume that coinguy*matthew both have passed up MS-63 graded coins and purchased lesser graded coins because they actually had better eye appeal than the MS-63's.

Also, you are right, we did not take into consideration that the rub might be on the plastic holder or due to play of light. However, asking folks to assess coins based on pics alone and them not having the coins in hand for evaluation, will usually end up with a flawed assessment.

Personally, I think that everyone would be better served if I no longer give assessments of coins and their values, so that there will be no hurt feelings or mis-read of what was written and I would imagine that coinguy*matthew feels the same way!

Frank - your help is appreciated. Clearly you just need to be more selective in who you help to only those that are appreciative. Lesson learned for all of us.

$1,000 and I know the weight of the coins and it ain't ten pounds! HA!

No, they are Hybrid Bass caught on the Cherokee Lake. We were hoping for Stripers that day because my friend Lloyd who I was fishing with, caught two Stripers in the 25 pound range just the day before.

Oh, okay, I guess that explains it, they must be big because they are hybrids. I couldn't understand why you took a pic of such little stripers? Must be a Tenn. thing?

To huntsman, joecool, coinguy and anybody else who took offence to my overreaction to coinguy calling my coin a dog. Try to think of it like someone calling your mom or wife a dog. I got my little feelings hurt, didn't mean to hurt everyone else's little feelings and didn't mean to overreact. I'll be the bigger man and apologize, nobody's perfect all the time, just the old roofer coming out of me. (I still think they are little fish though, lol)

treblehunter,

Thanks for the apology and I am sorry as well for taking such offense to your statements! It is often too easy for anyone to read more into a Post than what is actually there. I have done it many times and most others folks have done it as well.

By some standards the fish are small but by others, thay are big! The two fish are actually big for Hybrid Bass, Lloyd took the pics and I just use them on some of the forums I am a member of. Besides, some folks get worried and are somewhat intimidated when I post pics of myself with one of my' Deer Rifles, so I go with the fish. LOL!!

I have fished extensively in the Delaware Bay for striped bass from the late 80's on. The only hybrids that I seen were during the spawn up one of the rivers that flow into the Del. Bay, they were no where near the size of the bass that we caught in the Bay. It's a shame that nowadays we have to worry about posting a pic of a rifle, or a harvested deer for that fact. I bet those fish tasted very good for you and your family, I know it has always been a favorite of my family. The pic in my avatar is of the schooner the "AJ Meerwald" my grandfather used it in the forty's to harvest oysters in the Delaware Bay.
I'm glad there are no hard feelings, good luck to you and HH

Brad,

I know what you mean! There are so many Anti's out there against everything and it is insane. Well, as we say here in Tennessee, "They can kiss my' grits!" and here is a pic of one of babies. It is a Remington Model 700 LSS in 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum with Silver Leupold Scope Mount Bases, Silver Leupold Scope Rings and a Leupold Vari-X III 4.5-14x50mm Tactical Scope with Target Knobs (Turrets) and Butler Creek Flip-up Scope Lens Covers. Besides all of my' other MOS' in the U.S. Army, I was also an Armorer (Weapons Specialist) and fired nearly everything we had in an Armored Tank Unit and everything the German Military (Deutsches Bundeswehr) had except their' Tanks and Mortars. I only own quality hunting and personal protection equipment and know how to use them well.

Frank

P.S. Sorry but I had to block out portions of the pic to avoid affending someone! In doing so, somehow the color got removed but the stock in the Laminated Blue/Grey.
