Re: What's up with the 1970 halves???

They were only issued in Mint Sets. In two years of hunting I only found my first one last month. Some here haven't found one at all yet. They are toughies.

Yep, 1970 is the "second" rarest Kennedy half. When I find that half dated "1975", I'm gonna retire.

Re: What's up with the 1970 halves???

I have never heard of a 1975 Half.......... They made bicentenials in 1975 and 76, They had no intention on making 75 halfs so why would there be any out there if they never made a die for them????

As stated above there and absolutely NO 1975 Kennedy halves. In 10 years of searching I have found a total of 3 1970D halves, so they are out there.

Aside from some proofs, that is the last Kennedy I'm missing; having found the 87P & D earlier this year.

That was also the last year (aside from proofs) that they were silver clad.

Re: What's up with the 1970 halves???

You have to go through a lot of rolls to find a 1970-D. My best guess is that you have to go through at least $150K in halves for each 1970-D that you find.
