When to drop a pickup bank?

I'm considering dropping a couple of banks and finding a couple new order banks. The following is a list of my main order banks with the skunk rate (lower is better) and averages of 40s, 90s and all silvers per box. I know this is a good problem to have, but i'm really considering dropping Banks 7 & 8. Averaging only ~ 1 silver per box and a pretty high skunk rate has them both on the chopping block. They are different branches of the same bank about 2 miles from each other. Bank 7 has never produced anything more than 1-2 silvers per box. Bank 8 however produced my best box ever (84 silvers) and has on a couple other occasions produced 10-24 silvers though in general it is also a 1-2 silvers per box bank.

I know some may think it's silly to drop any bank that is producing anything, but when I have others producing 3-5 silvers per box it makes me want to find more of those type banks.

I have 150 half dollar boxes lined up for this month and it just seems silly to waste my time on some that I know will only produce 1-2 silvers or be a skunk 50% of the time. I wouldn't care so much, but dumping can be a pain sometimes.

DB, if I was you I would drop bank 4 and 7, I know bank 8 has the highest skunk rate, but also has the highest silver rate between 4,7,8. I guess it all comes down to how close it is to you and if the tellers are nice ;D

I would drop 1,4, 7, and 8. Anything less than 2 per box is a waste of my time.

To give you an idea - a lot of people find searching dimes worthwhile; for me they're there my best, most consistent source of silver unless I stumble across CWR halves. 1.5 dimes per box seems to be a typical average. One of your worst banks (bank 7) averages the equivalent of 3.4 dimes per box, but that's only 1000 coins to check vs. 2500 in a box of dimes. So one of your worst banks is 5.7 times better than my BEST source of silver.

For a true random sampling, you need to do alot more boxes from banks 4 and 6. Why not just go with 2 and 3, they produce the most, and are very consistent.

Actually, even the 30-some boxes they've gotten from the other banks are not enough to make any real conclusions about which bank is better. Statistically speaking, they're all about tied.

I would drp banks 4, 7, and 8. Keep bank #1 and give them some time, you have done 36 boxes and have less than 20% skunk rate, that's great. keep it up!
