Depends on your threshold for fun. The V3i has more features that can confuse most hunters so they are always wondering if they are set up right. DFX is easy compared to the V3i but both are fun.

I know this is a bit off topic, and hope not to offend; but comparing the v3i to the etrac....the etrac seems much better on paper than the v3i from what i understand(which is limited as of now)

If you run both in the stock programs (without any modifications) the V3i will out perform the DFX. And I love my DFX.
