Metal Detecting
I have an Eagle Spectrum that has only been used 2 times since it was bought new in '94. I have used it a few times myself and found a few coins around my yard. I know this detector is old but I plan to keep it for friends use or a backup. My question is - what, if any, coils can be used with this detector and will a different coil give me better performance? Should I test the coil and see how well it works first? If so, how should I go about that? I am new to this and if the questions I have asked are not very logical, please let me know. Thank you

Hi Richardson
The Eagle Spectrum is good detector. Do you know with size coil you have on it ? I went down a size to 8" coil .
Stock coil should get you 9" or better with stock setting. I think it did as good as my xlt ,but I am getting old and could not see screen good. Try playing with your AC sensitivity . It will get you little more deeper.
