It is adjustable within the settings - "VIEWING ANGLE", no need to open it up.

There is no "viewing angle" on the Eagle Spectrum series. Viewing angle is on the newer White's machines. I know, I had a Spectrum for over 18 years. Great machine.

It is possible that the screen is not working properly. It could be because of it being used in cold weather. My screen seemed after quite a few years to not be as bright as it was when new. Also a problem with the Spectrums was that the background light will fail. That was the problem with mine. Once fixed, it was bright as new again.

You can call White's and have them take a look at it. It may need a new screen.

I have one that I still use, never had any problems with the display tho, mine just keeps saying low battery all the time (even with new batteries) still works like a charm too. im thinking about sending it in for an overhaul anyway.

My display is just fine can see it in bright light. The backlight went out years ago though.
