Several months ago, when I first heard that White's was coming out with a single frequency VLF waterproof detector the MX Sport, I knew I had to have one. After several months of waiting (mostly saving money) I ordered mine and it came in about a month ago. The MX Sport has it roots in the White's MXT and MX Pro and it's their latest addition to that line of metal detectors.

Some Pros:
Large easy to read screen
Easily programmable with just enough learning curve to make it fun and challenging
Lite weight / Solid construction
Notch discrimination
2, 4, 8, and 20 Tone ID
Rejected Target Volume Control
Excellent iron separation

Cons:
Coils are not interchangeable with the other MX detectors
Slight creak when swinging (called White's and they were most helpful, solved the problem without issue)

While I'm not qualified to do a real review, these are my personal observations during the first month of use. As far as I'm concerned the MX Sport is an outstanding metal detector and made to the White's standard I've come to expect and trust! White's Electronics... you've done it again! H Digs!

Twink, Good luck with your new equipment. If you want data there is a multitude of threads here dealing with that detector and I feel that users have probably covered it more than any other Whites detector released recently. You should not have to look far to get the low down.

Pretty decent detector. After a year, it looks like they finally figured it out.

How do I find these threads you are referring to?

It can be purchased for $749, however I got an additional discount when it went on sale. Shop around and you may be able to save a little money. White's is offering over $100 in free stuff until January.
