Went to of my favorite banks today to get a box of halves.. And went ahead and got a box of dimes also.
The nice lady who orders my boxes for me told me I should buy some quarters, that some one had brought in a bunch of silver ones...and that one of the tellers had already bought $40 face value you in them! Sadly... That was the same teller that was taking care of me. I asked for some of the quarters that may have silver in them. And he bluntly gave me ones he knew siding. So I went back to another teller. And got $700 worthy. Found 27.25 face value in quarters. Gong back tomorrow to get more!

Great score - but that's probably the only way to get many silver quarters from a bank these days - having someone on the inside tell you a bunch of silver was dropped off!

Just curious, do you think it works better to tell your bank contacts that you are looking for silver? I have told them I am a collector. If I clued them into the silver, I assume they would grab it for themselves, like the teller you dealt with.

Oh I never told them that I looked for silver!! I only talk about silver to the ladies at my main dump bank.. Lol
I guess that lady just wanted to hook me up.
I think I owe her some cookies!

Thats a great haul man. I have not had luck with quarters at all, lots of Canadian in the rolls but never any silver.

How come the King of Quarters hasn't said anything yet?

I was just wondering the same thing! Probably to busy admiring the silver he already has.

Thanks for all the positive feed back. I was so happy opening those rolls.. Find anywhere from 1 to like 10 per roll.. What a rush. Lol.
I'm going to I try to buy like $1,500 worth of quarters tomorrow. Over kill? Maybe. But hopefully it's worth it.
