Whoo Hoo! First one I've found in a box

I decided to have one of my branches that I haven't been to in a while order me a box. When I picked it up today I thought it was rewrapped dumps; box was inside out and had duct tape keeping it closed. Luckly I guess they ran out of boxes and used a quarter box. About half way through there were a couple 40%ers that popped out. On the second to last roll boom, 1970s! :headbang: This is the first one I've found in the wild, the others I have were from my teller hookup that saved them for me.

It is the last year of 40% silver halves. Even though 2,632,810 1970s were produced they were only issued in Proof Sets (I think).

There were 40%ers minted in 1976 as well. The 1970d is actually more valuable than the proof of that year. Nice find.
