**** Something more going on here than an overload of pix. & videos.****
The "most" users ever on this site was 16,224 on May.25th 2019....
Another site I frequent had 277,050 users on April 21st 2019...And they Never have this problem (and they generate) 10X the pix. & videos ???

As I said the overload was on a specific thread, not the server, the thread was picture heavy with thousands upon thousands of pictures on single thread creating a problem on that specific thread, not a problem on server.

So in essence...

I started a thread that lagged an entire site ?

OR... a thread that was doomed from rip ? heh

NO, as I have stated several times above already, your thread issues had nothing to do with server issue, it was specific to your thread only, it was only your thread that had issues loading, it was your thread only that would not allow access to middle of thread..

Maybe this will help to clarify .... This thread ALONE has more posts than the ENTIRE Treasurenet site has.And in the last 11 years it has Never, ever, jammed up (due to too many pix. & or videos.)??? 003.JPG

Not even close.
TreasureNet currently has.....
Threads: 576,297
Posts: 6,110,495

That thread in your picture has only 18,000 replies, the one in question on TNet that had to be locked has over 40,000 replies alone with more pictures than total replies in your picture due to quoting posts with the pictures.

Wouldn't a jam be due to too many people on at the same time ? Compare Both sites (most users ever) 005.JPG 004.JPG

I would think any forum that allows storage of images..would automatically resize the files prior to uploading?
I would also assume when a message is quoted that has images...a small thumbnail would be generated for display purposes, which would link to the single full size version.

Maybe it's just not that advanced..?

No, never been issue in past. Way site is set up we have no control over people who stop in and read but dont join.

I personally think issue could be we are on a shared server not dedicated server.

I think you hit the nail on the head..."shared server"

With the amount of activities on this site every single day, and I went thru times here where I couldn't even log on = needed my TNet fix :)

Age (experience) allows me the patience to endure through the times this happens, frustrating yes, but TNet goes on :) !!!!!

I have "forever" faith in the staff who keep this site going day after day, hour after hour. Can you just imagine the load they carry?

And they're quite effective at it, AIN'T THEY :)

How bout the biotchin stop. It's a website for christ sake, whether it works or not calm down. Some of you are acting like your experiencing engine trouble on a hot summer say. It will be ok it's not the end of the world.

Oh he’s spent plenty of time here. He’s my twin brother, and has been on my treasurenet for a very long time till I made him make his own. He’s right, and some are too sad to admit it. Quit whining, and complaining about it, technical difficulties happen all the time ie: anyone watch the thanksgiving half time performance where the sound went out? There ya go, another glitch.

Lol ya well some of us like to read and enjoy the site. I work full time and enjoy reading the post and talking when I can just saying its ruining a good site hearing people b**** over whether or not the owner of the site is doing a good job or has a good server. The man is doing the best with what he has and if that big of a deal than take a time out and come back when ur cooled off. As u can see about my post and replies this site doesn't rule my life I have kids and a job that come first. Just my 2 cents on this great site.
