There wasn't a brick section, so I figured I'd try here:laughing7:. Hunting an old homestead, and found this with my MD. I pretty sure it's a brick, but don't understand why the inside looks like petrified wood, and it reacts to the MD.

Anybody have any answers? Thanks

Not a brick, natural. Probably a slate with, as said by others, high iron content. :) Also said, a Hot Rock. It may have been where you hunted because the previous occupants thought it looked neat to and dragged it back home with them.
