Why is a MXT Pro heavier than a X-Terra 705

With the X-terra everything is housed in the plastic display unit. The MXT Pro has a separate metal box that holds the electronics and batteries.

Not to knock White's at all,great machines for sure but the mid range units M6 and up to the V3i are real bricks.Even the old units such as the old metal blue box coinmasters were known as bricks. Sill great machines,just heavy.

I just find it strange that a metal box and 4 batterys is that much heavier.

They are built like a tank compaired to most other detectors which makes me feel better when detecting in the thick wooded area's where everything is trying catch up on the detector.
