That is in beautiful shape for a William III copper! I was trying to see what the difference was on the 1699, if I read correctly yours is the rarer of two with the spelling being GVLILEMVS? Seems to list that variety at twice the value of another 1699, either way, nice coin and nothing wrong with the detail!

The reverse doen't look that bad, just needs a peroxide bath to get rid of the layer of crud.

Thanks Don, there's no E before the M though, as you say though either way a nice coin.

Yes, I got it backwards, it is not the rarer one of the two but still hard to find one without a doubt in that shape.

Having a field or 2 just round the corner is great, but it has been raining all day and is forecast to keep on for the next 3 or 4 days. Ok it's not as bad as 3 months by any means, but being that close and not getting out is really frustrating :BangHead:. How much longer are you expecting to have to wait.

I didn't realise some of you guys were off the dirt for so long. I feel for you, depending on where we are and permission to hunt, down time is usually 4 to 6 weeks. At least where I am. I hope your thaw comes early (climate change not withstanding).

Yep, I count count on 4 months of down time every year but I'm used to it now. The first few years I used to bounce off the walls, which there's really no point in doing ,because it won't change anything.
