If you are in CA, can't you find a silverware matching service to take these to and get a price? They may be able to tell you all the details about the pieces. Most services will try to buy for scrap, but a good service good be helpful to you.

Itā€™s not a ā€˜Dā€™. Itā€™s a gothic upper case ā€˜Tā€™, which is 1854 for the London Assay Office:
