Wherever there be treasure!
Detector(s) used
Older blue Excal with full mods, Equinox 800.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
In an effort to stymie the winter doldrums, TH is allowing me to hold a simple contest. So here's how it is going to work;

I have selected a number between 1 - 300 and the first person to guess that number wins a free book, Florida's East Coast Gold & How You Can Find It. (Seeker41 is keeper of the selected number.)

Rules: Only one guess per person per day. And, you must also include either a picture of a find, your equipment, or a word or two of treasure hunting wisdom. Should be fun and entertaining and might help to keep hunters inspired through these winter months. :thumbsup:

Nice ring! Is it emerald?

Thanks...I don't know if it's a real emerald or not. It is gold that is at least 18K and I found it years ago but never had it checked out. How or where would I go to get it checked?

I would think any jeweler could tell you, but I'd take it to at least a couple of them. Learned this the hard way myself not long ago.

I figured most jewelry store employees would be clueless but there is a mom and pop jewelry store in the next town over that I will take it to. I will let you know what I find out. Thanks

bigscoop,

Thanks for the contest.....I'll go right up the middle with 150 as my guess....lol.

words of wisdom:- grid, grid and grid some more....when you finish start all over again from a different angle....boring as heck but it works...

My find a chunky silver chain weighing in close to 2 ounces at a trashy and picked over high school sports field probably passed over as a modern piece of junk by others....when I finish with a site if there's anything left over other than rusted nails or old bottle caps....they've earned my missed keepers.

Regards + HH

Bill
