Welp, once again I went on a road trip up north. But, with the results
I do believe I'll need to choose a different direction next time.

My last two trips up north have left me with a feeling of really not being wanted. :tongue3:
Or....at the very least....feared. :laughing7:

It do seem that anyone I tried to stop by and share a day of reminiscing with was just too
preoccupied! You Pennsylvanians are really just too busy up there! :dontknow:

Anyhoo....I do want to express my gratitude to my congenial albeit too busy hosts. By their "snubbery"
it gave me a real chance to explore grounds never before explored, (by me). Also, it freed me to go to places
with potential instead of the usual "farmed out" clad farms I'm usually taken to. ;)

I actually had the time of my life! Just visiting family, having a grandson show me how to do this hobby
properly. Let alone some fantastic finds that I normally wouldn't be given the opportunity to get a coil over!

These are just the combined finds from the week road trip but, due to all the busy-ness, I didn't get out a lot.
Still.....some VERY nice finds, even if I do say so myself! :icon_thumright:

2017 (497).jpg

First of all was this VERY special pocket spill!

2017 (498).jpg

If you don't think it so special, take a closer look. ;-)

2017 (499).jpg
2017 (500).jpg

These two are sort of twins, if
yaknowaddameanvern? ;)

2017 (501).jpg

Paid for the ENTIRE trip! 120 bucks!!
Thanks Pennsylvanians! :tongue3:

The next one is surely a "Banner"!!

2017 (502).jpg
2017 (503).jpg

OBVIOUSLY! It *has* to be 14th century!!
Back before they stamped ANYthing on their
coins! NOT EVEN DATES!! 8-)

2017 (504).jpg
2017 (505).jpg

The gearhead, Fishy, has a new project.
Obviously dated 1888! :tongue3:

2017 (506).jpg

Even Blingie is smiling!

Yes....thank you Pennsylvania! I had a *WONDERFUL* time!
Without you! :dontknow:

Happy 4TH to all those not too *busy* to read this! :occasion14:

I think you had an awesome time detecting and the finds look great! I rather be swinging the coil than sitting around gabbin with people anyway.
Have a Happy 4th of July!

Nice finds Wadi ! but I Do take your accusations Personal :(
If not for the Expected Bad weather & the definite time of year problems,
I would have been more then happy to get out for a couple hours of Hunting.
My health won't allow me to hunt in 80/90 degree sun.

and the places I hunt that have shade get rented out weekends & holidays.
and I won't risk being labeled a Nuisance to the local Public.
I do believe it's the reason I'm welcome at these places.

This time of year I spend 90% of my time right here in the House.
Last 2 times out to Hunt, I never got past Loading & unloading my Detector.
I want to get out tomorrow. Odds are probably 50/50 now
& will probably sink to 80/20 When I pull in somewhere . the 80 being against.
.
and it is Not due too "snubbery" or "fear" !

It's due to Location, time, health & Weather

if somehow you feel Different that's your right,
But again. it is very disheartening you would take that attitude :(

If you just wanted to stop by and "share a day of reminiscing",
you should have made that clear.

& you know the places I took you.if you just wanted to hunt them & risk
the Muggles , Heat & or Rain. you could have swung by and weighed your options onsite.

This Pennsylvanian had a death in the family. My aunt passed away and my babysitter (mom) couldn't watch my daughter for me because it was her sister that passed and she was too emotional. Understandably so. The stars always seem to not align right when you do come up this way. Again, maybe next time.

Thanks Jeff. I haven't seen my aunt in over 20 years. I guess that makes the heartache that much less. Of course I'm sad about it, but not seeing her in so long made it less painful. Sounds terrible when I put it that way, but she moved to Texas years ago

It must have been the timing. Also up across Indiana-Pennsylvania the stuff in the air has cause people who normally don't have allergies to have allergies. My wife and I are really suffering this year. If you can't sleep, everything else goes bad.
I read that PA has been having a real problem with deer ticks this year too. Our son is supposed to go camping next weekend up around Erie, PA, and I told him to really coat himself and his girlfriend in Deet or some other bug spray.
I hope you give the "Keystone State" guys another chance. I always enjoy your posts here on TNet, and I wish you the very best luck on finding some really neat treasures. I know your two "little buddies" will be pleased. :D

I don't know you or the "busy" Pennsylvanians but a post like this would not likely result in the welcome mat being rolled out in the future. Of course your post may have been intended in a sarcastic, good ribbing tone but it didn't seem that way.

though I know Gary well enough to believe he meant it in a sarcastically lighthearted way,
I still take offense because not everyone knows this.

WEATHER!?!? Why! Where I "hail" from, we don't need no shtinkin' weather!! We go when/where
we want to!!! :(

One thing you forget is that you were NOT the only one I tried to meet with, there were 6 others!!
Another thing is that you are the LAST person I would expect to take WHATEVER a WIF says without
a VERY large grain of salt!!! :nono:

I'm sorry if you have a problem with what I said, now go back to the window so you don't miss the
fireworks display!

Take care!

There is always a silver lining! I always say that man plans and God laughs.
Because of the way the schedule went, including an hour long backup of approx 15 mph.
It put me back home at just the right time to meet a friend of a friend who just happens to
mention that he has a 26 acre farm that I would be welcomed to hunt anytime I wanted.

So,,,,ya see? Just keep lookin' up and sayin' those prayers.

There sure is a lot o' fence taken go'n on!
I hope you all were checking the post holes for treasure!
...i hope you put the fences back too, or there will be alot of mad fence owners out there!

Well... My excuse, i'm am out of town sitting with a granddaughter this week, sorry Whadi.
I'm guessing now we all will be finding alot of metal trash left from the 4th of July revellers.

As for your score,
NICE SCORE !!! Congrats!!!
Is that a silver buckle, & pendant?
Those coins (rare dateless ones!!! Carefully washing them they float) and cash are for sure some ones treasure!
And if people are accepting "bit coin" you may have a shot at using you new money! Lol, hey why not? A bird in the hand....

You went ahead and had fun with out us, awesome!

....encase anyone cares, my detector refused to leave home.
....and you know what happens, there are parks, and places galore, and i don't even have my pin pointer!

Blingie has bling, and Fishy has wheels!....and Whadi found treasure, more than most of us did!
Congrats to you sir!

Hopefully no one gets to uppity with your post mate. I have to admit I found it quite entertaining. I don't get easily offended by mere words as they are just that, words. While sarcasm may not be a virtue I must confess it can be rather amusing as long as it's done so graciously. Glad you had a nice trip. I do love your 14th century Pegasus coin. Gotta' be a BANNER find for sure I reckon.

I assume then that, all I need to do is come down to your area, and that you would be more than willing to show me your spots where you hunt?

I did not, have never, asked ANYone for their "spots" nor even tried to get permission to do so. I wonder, if you came down and I told you exactly where I hunt. If you would actually try them or just laugh and go home. You can find *ALL* of my spots in any park/school/recreation directory. Still wanta? :tongue3:

Never been about "spots"....why you trying to make it that?

It's all been much ado about..................................nuthin! :dontknow:
