I found these items in a wooded area of an old park. The 1857 Seated Liberty Quarter and the 1877 50 Pfennig piece were found Saturday and the 1917 Standing Liberty Quarter was found one day last week in the same area.

The 1857 Quarter:

The 1877 50 Pfennig:

And the 1917 Stander:

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful coins!

The seated is GORGEOUS!!

That SLQ is in great shape!

How deep where they?

I hunt OLD parks, and while I manage to find a mid 1800's Indian almost every time I go to my favorite park, the old silver eludes me every time!

Ice Addict,

These coins were all 4 to 6 inches deep. Your XLT is a good machine for finding silver. I'm sure that if you walked over these coins, your XLT would have found them. I don't know what part of New York you live in, but I know there is a real good White's dealer in Albany. He should be able to give you some tips for finding silver in the Catskill and Adorondak areas. I believe there is a good MD club there too. Check them out. Good luck.

Bob

Nice silver finds. :icon_thumright: That SLQ must have been dropped a long time ago. It still has a date. :laughing9:

WHOA!!! That 1917 SLQ is a type I. From what I understand, they're pretty rare. You may want to consider having the SLQ, the seated, and the 50 Pfennig all sent in for grading and slabbing....nice job!! Those are some really cool finds!! :icon_thumright:

Check the book regarding that '17 SL. It might be worth more than you think! Nice finds! HH Dandan
