reminds me of my apple picking days.

of course the ladder was probably only about a 1/3 that high at most :coffee2:

I think I counted about 60 Steps, Give or Take.
The apple ladders look like they could have 20 if not for the point

What are those 2 on the ground doing ? ? ? dancing ? heh
I'm pretty confident they are holding on to rope.
Probably ready to lower a Limb as it is cut free.

If you look at the Guy above them the Rope also looks like it could be holding him up.
But I'm guessing he Tied it to a Limb, he's ready to cut.

A tree like that comes down in pieces, so each guy is probably at the
limb he's supposed to cut.

I'd need a bowl of Wheaties just to get up that ladder!

Funny... when i was a kid i think i would have climbed that and not thought twice....

Now... Sheesh i am nervous on a normal height roof let alone any higher.
yea being afraid of heights till I get used to them,
I climbed the local fire tower in my early teens.
till I got to the top I was practically crawling the last few steps.
when I got there I hung by my legs upside down over the edge .

now I wouldn't hang from the see saw bar at the park.

last couple times I got on my roof of my house at the 1 floor level,
it took me a few deep breaths to walk to the edge

When I was in my early twenties a friend and I went out drinking for a little bit and he eventually decided we needed to go climb and tag a water tower around 2 in the morning. The water tower was on the GM grounds on West Willow in Lansing, MI - long since torn down. So we stopped by real quick at my place and grabbed a can of black spray paint I had handy.
I was scared AF but my friend was gung ho and determined to go up, so up we went, with me right behind him on the ladder. About 3/4 of the way up he looked down at the ground and started freaking out. I told him to go back down and I would complete the mission, and he agreed. I held onto the side of the ladder as he went around me to go down, it was a bit scary there.
I climbed to the top and found there was a comfortable 30 inch or so walk way around the bottom of the water reservoir. I was in a mental zone where I was focusing like never before, even having drank previously. I had no fear and spray painted the name of my family's cat, HUBERT, something I knew would be recognized by insiders.
When done tagging I threw the rattle can down however many feet and it took like forever to hit the ground. I then calmly descended and we got the hell out.

I would jump from balconies into pools... off small bridges around here... all sorts of things.

I can remember the change... Chasawiska River...

On a massive rope swing that required 40+ feet of climbing a tree to stand on a nailed in 1 foot long 2x4...

Something i had done many times before... and was a real beeatch to get right from the top level...

Was standing with rope in hand ready to go next and i had this crazy feeling it was gonna go wrong somehow.

Climbed down...

Now... i dont even jump rope. :P
