I have posted 2-3 posts on this site and the findings but I'm interested in thoughts on working a site like this //
this started about 1807 with a Tavern on one of the little lots (so far no evidence of it ) then a shop/store in the middle (¼ acre lot) about 1829, then a house?/ up to about 1850. The house and shop were about 50 ft apart +-. stone lines everywhere --
Now only some stone work, and brush/trees all over.
Items found so far: the 1830s coin, 2 ax heads,1 adz, one light adz or grub hoe, a Black smiths fuller tool, some lead flashing // nails.
I see NO evidence of any bottle or MD work . So today I set off (by eye) about 10x10 ft and went over it very carefully/ dug 3 30-45 signels to see what they were (1 ¼ in hand made nails)
then a 81-81 after wiggling over it about 20 times—dug a pc of flat steel about 2by 3”at 6” dn --like a pc of hoe blade -no clue--
What to do next ?? Perry

I'd start griding around the store and house remains! Sounds like a great place to hunt!
Best of luck!
