This spot...creekbed...runs parallel to the river, about 75 yards from river. These boulders are the only ones in the area and the big one is 15 ft tall or more.
If you had a day to hunt this, would you? And where would to begin? I have found lots of points and pottery both up and down river from this spot.
Thanks for any input/advise!!

I like it but wouldn't know where to begin to hunt it unless there was a cave there and then I would be cautious due to bears and such. Myself, I would stick to the water, maybe a creek nearby, stream or washout or any fields around there.

Looks so much like places I go where you can only see about 1% of the ground. :(

I would look for the nearest draw or any place where things may have washed down.
Or any small hill that at least one side has eroded away... good luck

If I had permission and it was legal, I might do a quick test around the base of the rocks. Screen a small portion, maybe 1.5' X 1.5' two feet deep. See if you find that anything (debitage, fractured rock, shatter debris) that looks out of place. Only if it is legal and I had permission. If you find something, you'll have a decision to make.

Hello. If it is a creek bed, it would be very difficult to recover anything from what I am looking at. In a traditional creek bed it may take hour/days to find a broken piece, can't imagine how lucky you would need to be to find anything there. Those pics look a lot like old buffalo / cart trails.
