Yesterday me and a comrade from Arizona went to the SME ( Society of mining engineers) convention at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. It was a pretty big turnout and I saw some good possible products to hopefully represent in the business I do. Not much in the way of placer mining, but I did review this thumping wash table run and it was cool watching the gold separate from the sands. Told the guy who designed it that it sounded like being woken up in the middle of the night in some of the motels you stay in by the room next door by the sounds of thump-thump-thump-thump. Took em second, but then they got it and busted out in a laugh. When I registered online at the sme website I saw they had a photo contest, so I submitted one I took of an old headframe up by Leadville with the sun setting behind the mountains. It was one I posted in the past here on TN. I only got an honorable mention and a prize of a choice of mining ebooks as a prize. Each ones worth at least a hundred bucks, but hey I made the cut. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/my-daily-snapshot/510602-all-colorado.html
