well, its not a coin or token, just some modern emblem attached to? (seems to depict Hermes/Mercury)

I don't know about modern. It was a good 6" down and crusted up really bad. It was about the thickness of a penny with all the crust on it. Now it's about half as thick.

It took about 7 trips into the warm peroxide to be able to make out the face.
