I purchased a 31" Relic Hunter shovel manufactured by WW mfg. from Colonial Metal Detectors back in November, actually my sister
bought it for me for Christmas. About three weeks ago I took it out on its first hunt and it bent after digging about a dozen holes.
I figured it must be defective because there were no roots or large rocks in that hole and it bent while I was digging. I sent an email
to Colonial Metal Detectors and they sent me the number of WW Mfg., I called and they said send it back and they would take care of it.
WW didn't replace it but they UN-bent it and put a reenforcement on it. My question is do you think they should have replaced it or is
what they did satisfactory, I'm not really sure how I feel about it. Do you think they should have reimbursed me for the ten bucks it
cost to ship it. I have other WW Mfg. tools and none have ever bent on me, I'm just curious what you all think.

I'm sure it will hold but that is one of the worst welds I've seen.

I have an old friend who likes to say: "It ain't a pie-anna!"
("It's not a piano" similar to 'It ain't rocket science')

Agreed, should have had a gusset to begin with. Did they get a monkey to weld that up? ::)

lol...
That's what I was thinking... Looks like TIG and "soft rod" work...

On ANOTHER note, the Might AP digger wont' break like that.....

Just sayin',..... ;-)

As for the original question, NO I think they should have just replaced it.
Yes, I DO think it will "hold" (hell you stick enough iron to ANYTHING and it will "hold"), but it looks like crap and may affect the function, depending on how you use it.

It was 'repaired' with no consideration at ALL as to how it is actually used.
You can't use the back to step on now, and I think this is how it was designed...
I want one of those AP DIGGERS!
And yeah, the company should have at least paid for the shipping!

Bad customer service ticks me off
