As I came into this beautiful area this morning getting off rt 81 onto rt 220 I realized something. This was an amazing sunrise, stunning views. I wish I had more time to explore this wonderful area. My next trip will last a few days here for further R&I. But I did find what I needed.

Yeah, I-81 is FULL of interesting sites; from there, all the way up to Winchester, Va.; you need a WEEK!

Yep need a week or two. Hey Reb, any railroad museums around there?

"tat", the BIGGEST Railroad Museum is in ROANOKE, Va. HUGE! Roanoke is right on I-81; take Rt. 581 exit into the city. It is downtown; LOTS of neat shops around the RRM... parking may be as "downer", tho! "Google" RRM, Roanoke, Va. HH!

The Virginia and Tennessee railroad ran by Buford's Depot in 1848.

YEP! It was BEFORE the CONFEDERATE WAR... "google" Confederate Railroads: Virginia & Tennessee. HH! KEY words: Lynchburg; LIBERTY/Bedford City; BUFORD'S DEPOT/Montvale;
BIG LICK/Roanoke...
