Years that coin mintages were published?-Help-

R.S. Yeoman's Blue Book (Handbook of U.S. Coins) was first issued in 1942, and it listed mintage figures. I'd guess those numbers might well have been in the World Almanac before then, or in other coin guide books. They were a part of the public record, so anyone wanting the information could have found it with little trouble.

If you are wanting the know when the public was notified i would have assumed this would have been available the following year from the treasury dept after the final count was done. As far as a book printing i have no idea.

that is public knowledge the next year. If you look at a copy of the Red Book from the 1940s you will see the mintages for all coins up to the year of publication and that is how they do it now too. regards, siegfried schlagrule
