Yer, I'm new too

Hello all,

Well what can I say, I am just starting something I've wanted to do for a long time, hunting
Just bought my first detector, A Garrett sea master Mark 2.
Should do the job I think.
I look forward to posting what I find, lots of ship wrecks where I live.

Cheers,
Jim

New Zealand!
Man! between the ships in the ocean and native relics you should be set!
Always wanted to visit. Maybe someday I'll just load up a boat and head thataway!

Good to see a new face on here, And it does become addicting.

Thanks Lads,
My Garrett arrives this morning, and I'm really excited, tempted to take the rest of the day off just to go and try it out.

Re: Yer, I'm new too

Thanks everyone for the warm reception, Awesome.
Have been out a couple of times now, found about $30 in coins, one ring and two bracelets.
Also, lots and lots of bottle caps and sparkeler wire (popular beach at Guy faulks time).

the sea hunter is mint, I can't wait to take it underwater.
I'll try to post a pic later.

HOLA: Love my Sea Hunter for both land and sea. I even have found small Gold nuggets on land with it even though it is not designed or recomended for this.
Yer hooked man! sorry.

Re: Yer, I'm new too

Back on deck after 2 mental years including marrage, buying a house and a daughter.

After confessing to my wife I did metal detecting (yer, I didn't tell her I bought the sea hunter), she was actually very supportive, YAY!.

And since I have moved to an old sea side town, I'm planning to hit a near by forest with lots of very big old trees.
Keep thinking about the bag of buried coins dammit.

See ya round.

Re: Yer, I'm new too

If she gives you any smack about your detecting just tell her of all the Gold jewelry you can find to drape her with. This should work wonders and she may even encourage you to get out and detect more often as what women wouldn't want to be draped in Gold.
