You've heard the old saying, Try, Try again, well we did with much success!

My partner and I went hunting today. We hit a one room school house,
with little success. Moved down the road to another one room school
house and our luck got better. I found an IH 1903 here and my partner
found a Rosy dime.

We moved on down the road an hit a park, now our success really took of
in hight gear. I found 8 wheaties, 2 mercury dimes ( 1920 and 1942 ) a Rosy
(1951 ) a war nickel (1943 P) and lots and lots of clad change.

My partner found a 1950 and 1952 silver quarters, 3 rosies, don't know the dates
and several wheaties and 11 clad quarters and 11 clad dimes and a few clad pennies.

We had a rough start, but we tried, tried again with much success!

That's the way you love to see it go. Fishing , Metal Detecting, Hunting, I have moved many times to other places at all hobbies and zippo. Great to hear someone get better and better results as they go.

Denny, you really have a lot of one room schoolhouses to hunt. Nice Digs!

We do that a lot(Nate and I) - move from place to place. Funny cause usually we just end up at the place we left - just another day.

On our local 1920s and 1940s Casey county maps here in KY there has to be about a 100 or more 1 and 2 room schools just in our county.
I have not had a lot of luck hunting them.
I think the saying ( did not have 2 pennies to rub together came from my county )

I know what you mean, some of the schools we hunt, 1860 type, you say to yourself, man these
poor kids didn't have any money. Then BAM, up comes a seated dime, or Indian head penny, it's there
you just have to hunt harder. Just keep going back, as long as the farmer is working the field up around
the school, soon you will find something.

My wife once told me that her neighbors didn't have any money and I said they had the 1914 D penny I found in there yard. You just never know what you will find.
