Update from the 1972 D no FG found a few weeks back -- SOLD!

Sold it on ebay for a whopping $160!! Can you believe that?! I wanted to make sure I received feedback and such before jumping the gun celebrating. Well I got the feedback yesterday. Shipping an insured coin is more expensive than I imagined, was $6.60. It was in AU condition so I really lucked out there. But that's why I don't bother searching for errors on coins that are in terrible shape.

In other news my most recent box was a skunk, except for a 1982P no FG. I don't expect more than $10 for it, but it's also in AU condition so we'll see how it goes. No good pics of it yet to share. But I'll share some more pictures of the 1972D no fg below

Congratulations. I remember confirming the no FG on your original thread and was questioned about it. I've indicated on the TNet before that it is definitely worthwhile to search for errors (in top grades). Perhaps, this will cause some of the silver "hoars" to rethink their strategy instead of blindly searching for nothing but silver while tossing real value in their dumps.

Is that about what that coin is worth and is that as much or more than you expected to get for it? I'm not too familiar with the value of a coin like that but I'd sure say that was a heck of a find.

I didn't expect it to go for over 50. Honestly I saw some selling between $40-$100, but I was doing some bidding research and it seemed like someone was shell bidding. Like they were bidding it up themselves just to increase the value of this coin. But hey it worked out fine for me. Mine sold for more than anyone elses, but a few days before mine sold another one went for $160, a few dollars less than mine. I would've been happy with $30 lol, so it was a great surprise.

wow that is incredible. I have found a handful lately, no 72's but a few none the less... I guess I will need to throw them on ebay. Awesome profit man, you can buy 5 ozs of silver for that, great job.

Wow, that's crazy. I don't even look for these because I never expect die-polishing errors to really be worth that much because they're so common - most (e.g. broken nose Mercury dimes, broken neck Lincoln cents) carry almost zero premium. But for whatever reason, certain ones (no FG halves, no FS nickels and 3 legged buffaloes) just send people into a frenzy!
