So I took some coins to a local auction I go to a lot and I have gotten to know the auctioneer, and he was fine with selling some of my coins, Accept for the 3 in the first picture, all the others I told him to sell Choice out on..
These were the results..
1. middle coin was a 1923-s Silver dollar, Ebay was $30-$35 but sold here for $45
2. Coin on the left was a 43 Walker, on Ebay was about $13 but I sold it for $35
3. Right coin was a 1914 Barber Dime, I think was listing for $7-$8 on Ebay and sold for $15
The rest I sold as Choice, meaning they bid it up and high bidder takes choice, then anyone else can take choice at that price,
So high bid was $10 (two bags of mixed coins included 1 Merc and 1 Rosie each and mixed buffalo and V nickels in poor shape) Both bags sold for $10, plus 6 more choice for $10 each, (silver quarter I'm sure) then he sold the remainder for all, per piece... which means your bidding on one but taking all the rest for the price Xs your money, so someone paid $5 x 13 for the rest...
Grand total was $240 and I got $194.00 after the 19% commision.. Although that seemed high, it was a shitload more than I expected for crap buffalos and V nickels (you guys know how terrible they come out)

Clearly I was getting more than double silver value, you can look at the dates and conditions and try to determine if you thought it was good or not.

*** NOTE !! There was a Flying Eagle Cent in that lot that I sold, Worst condition of almost any coin I have dug, you could see the Silhouette of the eagle and just make out the 1857, and the wreath but almost nothing else, Most of the people had never seen one, and didn't know what it was and I think (don't know) it got taken in the lot of 13...

P.S. I have dug 4 Flying Eagles in my time and still have the others.. they will go for much more I'm sure because they are in good / great shape

You did well.
I have been to a number of auctions with coins and they seem to always draw a decent crowd.
Congratulations.

Just clarify, this was NOT a coin auction, he does a weekly Friday and Saturday Merchandise Auction selling new stuff, so he had to fit me in edgewise, but he did say we could do one of these every 4-5 weeks,
I found it a good way to get rid of some of my Worst coins, a lot of the Buffalo Nickels or V nickels that look horrendous..
The main coins I checked on Ebay for "SOLD" coins in standard condition and I gave him a base price for each. The coins or mixed bags in the box were $5 minimum, the Silver Dollar was $35 the Half was $15 and the Barber dime was $7
As you can see I got a LOT more than that.... (the 2 bags sold for $10 as did 8 other coins in the box)

Something that I failed to mention was the Eisenhower Dollars that were on the left, I considered these as a $1 because the are clad circulating coins, but the person who bought all the coins at $5 each bought them as well so for $3 I got $15 🤣

I'm just needing to try to sell some of my coins, and I know that cashing out the silver won't give me much in Melt Value.. so I saw this as a better opportunity..

I also would say that we have been going to that auction for several years and several times someone had brought coins to sell like me and I watched in SHOCK as these coins were sold and the prices they obtained.. (one was a Sacagawea Dollar that was new sold for $5 ???)
I would NEVER pay $10 for a Mercury or Roosevelt dime... Silver value is $2. Some had silver rounds, that basic silver price would be $25 and would sell for a LOT more money and that's when I asked him if he would sell some of mine..🤣 So he said bring a box and display them and he would sell them..
I have to say I was REALLY happy with the results.... 🤣
