I think you are right on about the associationkuger said:Yes,the buckle pictured is what we call the Miners buckle.It was made both cast brass and stamped brass.I had never heard of any association of the star of david and this buckle.Although Jews were the merchants and importers back then and all of the buckles that have names on them were Jews,so an association is not out of the question.Here is one for ya.........

That is because this buckle has nothing to do with Judaism or the Star of David.
It is the tongue portion of a two piece buckle which was used on belts manufactured and marketed to gold seekers in California, I believe as early as the 1850s.
But do not worry about Jewish people. The loss of any claim to the origins of this buckle are offset by their strong presence in Hollywood and the diamond markets!
