I was searching the web trying to find out more info on one of the early buckles I dug last weekend, and came across one that looked familiar. It had the maker's mark of "Samuel Martin" on the chape, and I knew I had dug one of those before. Sure enough, I was able to locate it in one of my displays. Again, this buckle was older than I had earlier thought. I'm posting a pic of my buckle along with what I found on the web. Pretty interesting stuff!

Super nice information. I like to the history behind the artifact more than the item sometimes.

Those are some nice buckles you have there Bill, I have a little catching up to do to match those finds.:notworthy:
It's always nice when you can discover someting more about a past find, it makes MDing all that more interesting. I found out something cool about one of my finds when I was cleaning it today. I will try and get a post up tomorrow about it.
