found a few items on a friend's property in the Turks and Caicos Islands. I am leaving them with him who is a founding member of the TCI National Trust, so will hopefully have a good home in the museum. Also could use help in determining the use of the hook found on a plantation site, and age of axe head. Thanks for looking. Lloyd

Cool finds!!

what's the funny shaped thing next to the coin?

I went to Grand Turk on cruise (only for a day) though! What island were you on? should have taken my MD!!

Nice finds! Congrats on unearthing history for the people there! Hay or meat hook? Maybe?

Great saves!! What kind of coin did you find, its hard to see in the picture..The hook thing could be something to flip logs or it could serve another purpose im not sure:icon_scratch: HH!

.that other thing could be some kind of big pothook?Nice finds.

Thanks for the replies, I am on North Caicos, the coin is very thin and little detail, there seems to be some leaf or floral design and possibly a fleur de lis on one side and some numerals which appear to be 1598, The design around the edge are short lines or dashes that radiate from the center. The border design runs off the coin on both sides as a result of it not being centered. I don't have my coin book here to research from. Lloyd
