Headed out to the beach before the storms were due to hit. The wind was picking up a bit and I could see a couple other looters just down the beach, believe it was the Gurun and Denny, but they were moving away from me so I didn't get a chance to catch up to them. I settled into two nice lows that were close to where I started and just took my time moving through them. I had to fight my way though pulltabs, bottle caps and lots of junk and "mystery metal" pieces but taking my time paid off and I was able to score several silver items that all pretty much came from the same area. I had hoped fro some gold but there was no way I could be disappointed with this hunt!

I ended up with 4 rings, 3 of them silver, and 2 bracelets, both silver as well. I did a bit of mild electrolysis on them (tin foil, hot water, baking soda) and gave them a few runs in the ultrasonic cleaner but they are tarnished pretty good. I need to get some of that "jewelery shot" that Denny has been using to clean up his silver in the tumbler. Don't really need to clean 'em as they are pretty much going in the junk silver pile but it's nice to see what they USED to look like before the extended salt bath! Silver weighed in at 47.5g total so that was nice! If I get them cleaned up a bit better I'll post more pictures here then. Anyone know what might have been in the spots that look like rust on the one ring? Looks like a braided rope kind of design and every other section is rust or some sort of metal that is breaking down. Don't know if it had maybe copper in with it or maybe low carat gold that leached out of it. ideas? Thanks for looking!

Could the ring have had enameled areas on base metal?
Nice silver haul!
