it's one made before slim fast was invented....

Seriously I think it refers to the one made between 1860 until 1864 the bust was more rounded. But I know nada about coins so its just a guess. I am sure someone else here will jump in and tell you for certain.

Yes txkickergirl, you are right on the money so to speak. I think the dates are from 1859 until 1864. There are also fatty pennies. They are the Flying Eagle type. There dates are from 1856-1858.

A fatty indian head is thicker than a regular indian head.

Teverly nailed it The flying eagle variety and the Indians dated 1859-1864...The Copper-nickel variety. Some 1864 coins were however not fatties and are of the bronze variety ( oh yea and worth some coin)..He he..H.H. TnT

Here is a little bit of trivia:

Prior to the introduction of the Shield Nickel in 1866, the Flying Eagles and Indian Heads were commonly referred to as nickels!
