I had been eyeing a ball field for a while and decided this past weekend to finally go out there and hit it. I was totally disappointed, barely anything in the field but trash and a few clad coins. I went back to my car to go to another spot, and noticed some town property with some large fields on the other side of the road. I figured what the heck, glad I did. It made detecting for 5 hours in 28 degree weather, very warming!! A surprising array of various types of jewelry highlighted the day including my first ever diamond ring. 10k diamond ring, the main one looks to be about 1/4 carat, and there are three more surrounding it!! The other gold plated one I found first and was convinced it was gold despite it lacking a marking on it. It rang up 12-03 on my eTrac which is totally a gold signal. Normally gold plated copper will ring more like a penny. I have no idea what this one is made out of to ring up the way it did. The other cool item is the sterling Hat pin. Love the beautiful girl face, with the long flowing hair and flowers. It beats out the gold ring as my favorite find of the day. I also got a kick out of finding the two Clue board game pieces, had I any Clue what this field would yield I would have hit it years ago!! Enjoy the pics!
