This is why I don't throw stuff out

I still have a bucket full of finds from a Mount Holly, NJ hunt to go through, but this particular fine is from our Lancaster, MA trip. When I unearthed it, it was a big clump of nothing caked with very hard dirt. So, it's been soaking in apple cider vinegar for about 3 weeks and I've been able to scrape the mud off to reveal what looks like an old pad lock. Anyone seen one this shape? It's not solid... I took a pic from the side so you can see where the metal separates. Anyway, thanks for looking!

Yep...that's an old one!
 

That's definitely an oldie.....I've seen similar ones posted over the years and I've heard the term smoke house lock used before....not sure if that's what yours would be or not.
