Great spill. Congrats. This was a park woods find. I was thinking that maybe someone must of had to go. I found them under a large branch suspended over the ground. No d on the 16. Here are some close up of the merk. The 37 looks double but I was told it's machine doubling.
wow, so cool, love all that old silver. the SLQ with a date is very special, well done
Beautiful recovery! How far down? Any roots to contend with?
No. It was easy digging 2 inches down maybe. I think because it had a big Branch hanging over it. I just kept sticking them in my fifth pocket when I found them with the pin pointer. I found two 65 quarters and 3 wheat pennies around the same area.Beautiful recovery! How far down? Any roots to contend with?
No. Just dirt. I think you're right about doing business. They were all in the same spot. I did go back but I didn't find anything special. I love hitting the woods for coins. I have another SLQ from there, some merk and a walker.Cool ! Could have been someone had to Drop Trou
Was there any Trash noticible in the Hole ? Rotted Leather, Rusted Tin Bits that suggests it could have been a Lost Change Purse or Small Tin .?
either way , hit the spot again ! now that the ground & the Halo has a chance to heal, you may find one or 2 you missed when you originally Broke the Halo![]()
This wasn't the biggest spill I've found but it was the best. The biggest was about a dollar in pennies. I had a smile digging them up also. That's what I call a pretty epic coin spill. It's always a thrill to hit a target like that only to discover there are multiple coins in the hole. Congrats!!!
Hi Bill. I think you're right. I have given a lot of thoughts about it. It was right after the great depression and that would have been a lot to lose back then. The SLQ is a 1927, and I don't see any dates after 1937, with 2 very new looking 1936 dimes, so looks like a late 1938 or 1939 drop or early 1940's, what do you think? Great recovery for sure.....Bill
Wow, very encouraging...I imagine that spot will be revisited 🤔No. It was easy digging 2 inches down maybe. I think because it had a big Branch hanging over it.
