At the Quarry site is coming together...............
Every year I look thru the Site collection.........................<<<<<<<and I will never get a number smaller then 800 piece artifact Site Collection >>>>>>>>.................
When I take pictures I'am regrouping my artifacts................and taking good group pictures
This point is common break style in many time period artifacts............
The middle half of a point or blade.....................completely gone from the artifact
Anyone have any to show?
I have had this point for 9 years...............I'am tired of waiting for the middle section-that broke from the artifact................

Mid-section's from the Quarry Site...............
Some were used as Scraper's.......................I will show later with the whole group
This is a picture from last year........

the dark one on right ...... is a Dalton fragment-middle,got another Dalton mid-section used as Scraper................
When I show them I will with other Dalton Site pictures so you can better understand them.......

A few more..........
some are the same as above,some different........
I do have them orginized enough next time around a group photo,showing actual number
To be honest I dont find these ..................at other sites
Just the Quarry Site..................
Nobody else have any?
Out West most Mid-section are fragments are Paleo....................
Not the case here ..........I know some are Dalton...........some later
3rd one down on left.............is a very well used Scraper from Mid-section made from Keokuk chert<<<<<<the Quarry Site Chert>>>>>>>.

The other thing about this point is...............it is the only artifact at the site made from that kind of chert
The Scraper on the right IS local chert................but no points knapped from it,so I have no ideal on the Scraper time period......................

All the Chert in frame is Keokuk chert
The Quarry chert.....................the whitish color is the Burlington grade
The Tan color is raw Keokuk
The reddish Keokuk has been heat-treated...................
The reason I call it the Quarry site.......is because of all the debitage I took out ,,,,,,,14 --5 gallon
buckets of knapped chert by product!!!!!!!!
