12 More Boxes of 2011's ---- 9/23/11 ---

Friday 3K dime pick up = 12 boxes of solid 2011. That's sure one way to slow my finds down. I went to 3 other banks and was only able to find 2 boxes of circulated dimes. Des Moines is not a good place to be if your looking at dimes. This is 2nd straight week of solid 2011s coming from Loomis.

I have switched all orders to halves and will do this until the coast is clear from those hideously shiny dimes.

In the eastern part of the state I'm switching to quarters next week. I figure after you proved out that Strings Halfs suck in Iowa, I may as well try something different.

Not a option in my area. Banks around here will not accept rolled coins. All rolls here are string machine rolled. I have been to nearly every bank near me, and trust me when I tell you, that is a lot of banks! I talk to the tellers a lot and every one of them tells me they have to empty rolled coins while customer is there and run it through the counter before they pay them.

That's rough. I think I would either cut way back for awhile or just stop to let the inventory build back up.

When I used to do more Brinks boxes of dimes, I have to open them to take them back. The clear rolls are easy to search. The bank I get most of them from told me to bring the boxes of searched ones back and they would unroll them for me. They said all the tellers would sit there and unroll and chat. I asked several times did the feds tell you to do anything for me, they laughed. Its a lot of work opening alot of boxes I only did it two weeks. I tell them they are my favorite bank they seem honored. They order me huge amounts of coin and take them back the next day , been going on for years, I show them everything I find. I give them big chocolate bars every week. I tell them thank-you is not enough for what they do. Dan
