14k gold y-shaped necklace

I came across last week in my dead grandmother's belongings, a 14k gold necklace,y-shaped,made in Italy. The initials on the clasp are AU. This necklace, I suspect is an antique. It has 3 small light purple stones and two tassles. I am very interested in finding out the maker of the necklace and any history that goes with it. Thank you.

welcome to the forum, some photos would help if there's any chance of id-ing your necklace. AU is the chemical symbol for gold though.
