That pin looks to be extremely well crafted ! Have you looked carefully with a loupe for hallmarks ? I think you really have a special find here ,
Would you please put up pictures of the back of the pin ? Also please a bit more about the finding of this (what did the machine tell you ?)
A classy find indeed friend - keep us posted !

I looked again only thing I could find is these marks they read 14k 4-A when I found this my reading on e-trac was like 12 10 12 08 I think

That's one of the coolest things you're ever going to find.
Congrats!

It's gotta be old! You don't see much craftsmanship like that anymore.
Keep us posted if you find anymore info about it

That 'bird' is a really fine piece of workmanship. 14K usually means it's gold, don't know about the 4-A mark? The wheat cents you found, check them, any key dates? You might test the stones to see if they are diamonds. You could also do what I do, take it to the mall and ask one of the jewelers to look at it.:icon_thumright: The're usually very nice about that kind of stuff.
Some very cool finds :)

that thing is really cool and looks well made...not like stuff of today. congrats!

Wow , that pin is sweet !

5 hours of work .:dontknow:
A hobby should be an enjoyable past time , actually, imho , work prevents that person from metal detecting .
End of sentence . PERIOD ........................... ;);)

- only need a few hundred posts - every day - till #5000
That is a fine looking pin.

That's really nice pin, congrats!

Doesn't look too old, maybe late 40s, but more like 50s or 60s. An expert in mid-century jewelry could probably identify it further, as if it is 14k gold, it was probably made by a higher end manufacturer/designer.

Awesome find!! Keep it up! :D

That is a beautiful pin and looks well made !!! Congrats on your finds !!!

Great find!! What type of ground did you find this in? ( park)( residential yard) ect~

Nice find, I can picture that pin on some crazy old lady with a big poofy hat! lol
